So finally, Suburban Kids With Biblical Names comes to NYC, and of course it's finals week and I can't go. They played TWO free shows and I missed both. Grace will be sad when she finds out, but good thing she's frolicking in the rain forests of Peru! I love listening to this band. They remind me so much of summer. I talked to a Swedish guy on Omegle and he said that he dislikes Swedish music because it's too clean and sweet. But that's probably the exact thing I love about it. It's nice and carefree and puts me in a really good mood.
Here's a couple songs by them. The first is the one that caught me. I was walking back to my dorm and it came up on shuffle on my iPod (RIP laundry eaten iPod...), me never knowing it was there to begin with. And I am glad it did.
SKWBN - Funeral Face
SKWBN - 1999, featuring the voice of an Italian blogger in the beginning who interviewed them.
And for good measure, the song they got their name from, which is also pretty summery to me:
Silver Jews - People
I think S is the best section in my iTunes.
This is a link to SKWBN's Myspace (remember when Myspace was only for bands?).
